The event is a professionally organized athletics and road-running initiative aimed at addressing the issues of Health, Social & Human Rights (GBV, Child Abuse & Neglect and more), Crime & Safety (High Violent Crime Rates and more), Fitness and community engagement through competitive and recreational running. Its primary nature is to host marathons and related athletic events that bring together athletes, fitness enthusiasts, schools, and corporate participants from across Pretoria, Gauteng, and surrounding regions.

The A2Z Dynamic Annual Marathon is more than a sporting event it is a movement that celebrates the life, legacy, and values of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, one of the greatest leaders of our time. Established to commemorate the day Mandela was released from Jail on 11 February 1990, the marathon symbolizes endurance, reconciliation, peace, and unity among all people.

The annual marathon draws athletes, families, dignitaries, and supporters from across the world to honor Madiba’s spirit through sport, community, and collective action. Every stride in the marathon is a reminder of the road Madiba walked full of courage, struggle, and triumph.
